“Dark Beetroot” styling isn’t new to the NIKE, Inc. family of footwear products, but it’s only recently landed on what may turn out to be its most popular appearance: a Nike Dunk High.
Akin to some of the most iconic takes of Peter Moore’s 1985 design, the pair indulges in a cool grey base layer, which sets to the stage for the titular “Dark Beetroot” tone. Panels around toe, along the tongue and across the heel appear in the aforementioned, wine-reminiscent color. Other Nike Sportswear models (i.e. Air Max 97, Air Force 1) have indulged in less “Dark Beetroot” styling before, but have drawn sizable attention too. Underfoot, the high-top Nike Dunk keeps things simple with tread a shade darker than the upper’s most prominent color.
